Things To Do After Making A New WordPress Blog
When you just make a wordpress blog and confused what to do next, perhaps this guide can help you:
1. Once you’ve finished installing the blog via fantastico, you can immediately change the default wordpress theme with your theme choice. Free theme can be found in many sources on the Internet but The more unique your theme, more chance to keep your visitor staying in your blog.
2. Install basic plugin, Usually I use this 3 basic plugin : one click updater, All In One SEO Pack, sitemap generator
3. Customize Permalink Structure, Choose a good Permalink Structure and stick with it. Usually I used custom permalinks: /%postname.html If you change your permalink structure after you have been linked by other sites, those links won’t work anymore. So remember to stick with the Permalink Structure you chose in the beginning.
4. Install social bookmarking button, you can use free social bookmarking button from addthis for this step.
5. Creating a robots.txt file will not improve your search engine positioning, but it does provide robots with information concerning which files you will not allow to be crawled and indexed in the search engines.

6. Start Writing: What’s a blog without content? Start blogging!
7. The first time you submit a Sitemap to Google, you must submit it by adding it to your Google Webmaster Tools account. This enables Google to provide you with useful status and statistical information.
8. Install RSS and comment RSS
9. Install additional plugin
10. submit your blog on yahoo: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
11. submit your blog on google: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
