Google introduces the Google Chrome OS
Late Tuesday night, the Google Blog officially announced that the Google Chrome OS was a reality and would appear on netbooks some time later next year. And the biggest surprise is Google Chrome OS launching as an open source project and will be available to use at no cost.
No cost? Yeah…for no cost. But don’t worry, even Google Chrome OS launch as an open source project, several companies will support these lightweight operating system. The Google Chrome OS team is currently working with a number of technology companies to design and build devices that deliver an extraordinary end user experience. Among others, these companies include Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.
Google Chrome OS will be an open source OS, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Google will open-source its code later this year and will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.
Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. It possible happens because Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel.
But the biggest fear of a user Google Chrome OS is Compatibility matters. Compatibility, both hardware and software was the major reason why the world anointed Microsoft its King of Computing. Compatibility really matters and while Chrome’s world may be complete as far as it reaches, there is always more. That’s why Windows, frustrating as it may be, will prevail.

Here is Chrome do for you and your netbook
Cost, free OS from Google will bring the price of a $500 netbook down by 10 percent.
Compatibility, if Google can overcome this problem and come up with an OS that can be downloaded, dropped onto any machine and then “just works,” then Microsoft should worry about this OS.
Portability, do not argue with this. All Google service will be one touch application with this OS
Speed, Chrome OS is designed to run on low-powered Atom and ARM processors, and web-based applications don’t require that much horsepower on the client end so it should be faster still.
In other hand here is a reason that can make Google Chrome OS will fail
Needs, Netbooks may be important, but they remain a tiny part of the world’s PC sales.
Microsoft, never under estimate about this company. Microsoft will kick back with their marketing strategies.
Compatibility, if Chrome didn’t success with this, they are done. Microsoft stills the best about this matter.
